Elvis Would Rather RV Than Fly!
Recently I was parked in a RV park near Memphis, not far from Graceland and thoughts strayed to the King Of Rock @ Roll himself, Elvis Presley. I remembered running across an old photo in the family archives and I was able to locate it in a box I kept in my fifth-wheel travel trailer.
Believe it or not this is my cousin Kathy, seen here with a very young and flirty Elvis Presley. Kathy, a "Jet Bunny" was about to experience her 15 minutes of fame with the future King Of Rock and Roll.
Elvis Gropings At 24,000 ft!
Trapped (virtually alone) in the cabin of the Playboy Jet with Elvis, she was about to test all the skills she had learned in Bunny training about protecting her virtue in a hopeless situation. They were on their way to the opening of the London Playboy Club, flying from Los Angeles to Heathrow. Not many people know what happened on that flight, cause she ain't telling and Elvis is locked away in a East Texas nursing home where nobody but JFK knows he is the real Elvis!
Bubba Ho Tep, the Movie
Bruce Campbell does a superb job as an aged Elvis, and Ossie Davis is pure genius as a black JFK in this comedy/horror that no one bothered to see at the movies but I remember reading that the critics absolutely loved it. Let me go out on a limb here and declare this bit of movie madness to be known from this point on as a "classic."
If you have an imagination and are an Elvis fan like I am, you will get a sincere kick out of this movie. After watching these clips of the movie you will want it for your collection. Buy Bubba Ho Tep from our Amazon store and we will be eternally grateful!

Actually this picture of Elvis was taken in 1969 around the time of his return to Las Vegas. Further, Elvis never came to the UK.

This is actually taken in 1971, when Presley started suing Hef's jet with increasing regularity and a full four years before he bought his own Convair 990, which was bigger than Hef's jet or any private person's, at that time, for that matter. Hefner was (is), a huge Elvis fan and, to this date, no one is allowed in the famous "Elvis suite", a place inside the Palyboy mansion where Elvis, according to Hefner, stayed overnight with no less than eight girls. It is the most requested place by celebrities, yet, Hefner said it's totally off limits.
